A strong, inspiring female symbol that feels right at home with the rest my collection.
The Hebrew term Lilith translates as "night creature", "night monster", "night hag" and is thought to be derived from an early class of female demons. She is a femme fatale in folklores from all over the world.
She is the personification of erotic dreams, the suppressed desire for delights and also seen as a mother goddess of childbirth, children, women, and sexuality who later became demonized due to the rise of patriarchy.Other modern views hold that Lilith is a dark moon goddess on par with the Hindu Kali.
The moon isn't attached to the chain therefore you can remove the moon and hanging cross to slip it on another chain. Pictured on an 18" chain but let me know if you prefer 20", 22" or 24" long
The moon is half an inch long and the small cross almost the same length. Total hanging length from the top of the moon to the bottom of the cross is 80 mm or 2.5" long.
